Tale of two realities: Economic growth and #migrant struggles in Australia... a tale of contrasting narratives unfolds
On one side, we witness the blossoming prosperity of a thriving economy. Annual wage growth, soaring at an impressive 3.7 per cent, is the highest since the September quarter of 2012. This notable surge reflects the culmination of low #unemployment, a tight labour market, and the boiling high rates.
As the sun shines on the economic landscape, it is essential to recognise that every story has another side. In the shadows cast by this remarkable growth, we confront a pressing issue affecting the lives of many #newcomers. Alarming statistics reveal that one in six newcomers in Australia struggles with underpayment.
Within the #diversity that enriches our nation, a section of our newcomer community faces an unfortunate reality where their hard work and dedication are not justly rewarded.
Of course we must celebrate the accomplishments of our economic triumphs and strive for a society where everyone can benefit equitably. However, I believe we can bridge the gap between growth and inclusivity by fostering an environment that ensures just wages and opportunities for all.
